Your purchase directly supports an independent, dedicated yoga community in Burlington, Vermont. Saka created the original Yoga Messenger Bag in 2002 with a detachable mat cradle enabling the bag to be used with or without a yoga mat. Our mat bags marked a change in the development of yoga accessories to include a broader consideration of today's yogi's active lifestyle. Today, we continue our commitment to creating modern yoga accessories with new ideas and designs.
The name
Saka is inspired by the Sanskrit word Sakha, meaning partner, friend, one who gives support.
Beyond the Mat
Saka is a proud supporter of I'll Yoga for You the community outreach program at Yoga Vermont. We developed our Unfur Yoga Mat and Tote Bags to encourage students to cultivate a dialog about ahimsa and compassion for all beings. More projects in the works...
